Context

Another song about starting out small but this one is a threat of mine made real. When I was playing with my friends, I hatched and was promptly ignored by the entire pack while doing my best to be a visible little hungry dino. I warned them in chat. I warned them on voice. I almost starved, so here we are. Their little misdeed imortalized in a lighthearted song.

EXCUSE ME, I'M TINY

Lyrics

[Verse 1]

I hatched into a mighty pack:

Big jaws in front, big tails out back.

They roared a welcome, loud and proud—

Then lost me somewhere in the crowd.

I opened wide and gave a peep.

One scratched an itch. One fell asleep.

I chirped beside a giant knee—

The knee had no reply for me.

[Chorus]

Excuse me, I’m tiny!

I’m down by your feet!

These noises I’m making

Mean “please give me meat!”

A nod would be lovely,

A bite would be grand—

With all of these Allos,

Could one understand?

[Verse 2]

They’ll answer calls across the plain,

Then answer those same calls again.

A stranger coughs a mile away—

They’ve forty-seven things to say.

I chirp. I squeak. I stamp. I stare.

They hold discussions with the air.

I stand where everyone can see—

They somehow look straight over me.

[Pre-Chorus]

I’ve tried the left leg, tried the right,

Performed beside them in plain sight.

A dozen grown-ups standing near—

How many does it take to hear?

[Chorus]

Excuse me, I’m tiny!

I’m down by your feet!

These noises I’m making

Mean “please give me meat!”

A nod would be lovely,

A bite would be grand—

With all of these Allos,

Could one understand?

[Verse 3]

I found a rock and climbed up high;

A dozen tails still blocked the sky.

I cleared my throat, prepared to speak,

And gave my fiercest, finest squeak.

The pack fell quiet, one by one.

My tiny solo had begun.

One finally leaned down to see

Who’d filed complaints below his knee.

“Oh! Were you asking for food?”

“No. Those were decorative noises.”

[Verse 4]

They set a morsel at my feet;

I gave a chirp, polite and sweet.

It went unheard. I let it slide—

My mouth was far too occupied.

[Final Chorus]

Excuse me, I’m tiny!

I’m down by your feet!

I’ll pause my complaints

While I work on this meat.

Your roars are impressive,

As loud as can be—

Just spare half a second

To listen to me!
